Terms of Service
1. Agreement
By downloading, accessing, or using Table Canon (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy (https://tablecanon.app/privacy). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service is operated by Das Good Code (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
2. The Service
Table Canon helps you record tabletop sessions, process audio into transcripts and campaign memory, and review recaps and related materials. Features may change as we improve the product. Some features (including paid plans) may not be available in all regions or builds.
Session Song / music generation may be unavailable or disabled in the launch build.
3. Eligibility and accounts
You must be legally able to enter this agreement (typically 18+, or the age of majority where you live). You are responsible for your account credentials and for activity under your account.
You may use Guest mode where offered. Guest data is associated with a server account identifier; connect a Google or Apple account if you want easier recovery across devices. We do not promise to merge two mature accounts.
4. Your content and recording consent
You retain ownership of content you submit (audio, notes, campaign data) (“Your Content”). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, transmit, and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service for you (including transcription and AI-assisted memory/recaps).
You represent that you have the right to record and upload audio you submit, including any required consent from people whose voices appear in the recording, and that Your Content does not violate law or others’ rights.
You must not upload content that is illegal, harmful, or that you do not have rights to process.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, abuse, or overload the Service
- Attempt to access another user’s campaigns or data
- Use the Service to violate law or infringe intellectual property
- Circumvent plan limits, billing, or security controls
- Resell the Service without our written permission
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
6. Subscriptions, trials, and quotas
Free and paid plans may limit monthly processed audio hours, session length, or other usage. Limits are described in the app and may change with notice.
Paid subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play (and managed with our billing partners). Purchases, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are governed by the applicable store’s rules. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your store account settings.
Unused quota generally does not roll over unless we say otherwise.
7. AI-generated output
Recaps, memory, Ask answers, and similar outputs are generated with automated systems and may be incomplete, incorrect, or inappropriate. You remain responsible for how you use outputs at your table. Do not rely on the Service as a sole source of truth for legal, safety, or financial decisions.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, branding (including Table Canon), software, and documentation are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not transfer ownership of our IP to you.
9. Privacy
Our handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy at https://tablecanon.app/privacy.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, perfect transcription, or perfect campaign memory.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.
12. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify us against claims arising from Your Content, your recordings, or your misuse of the Service, to the extent permitted by law.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and may delete your account when that feature is available. We may suspend or end access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by nature should survive (including IP, disclaimers, and liability limits) survive termination.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms by posting a new version at https://tablecanon.app/terms and updating the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated in-app or by email when appropriate. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance where allowed by law.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, excluding conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer protections in your country say otherwise.
